What breaks when the payload is value
What does a backend have to get right when the thing it is moving is money?
A backend that moves money has a property most backends do not: a retry can be theft, a lost write can be a missing salary, and there is no support ticket that reverses a settled chain transaction. So the design pushes toward determinism, replayable state, isolated per-tenant credentials, and a queue that only calls a payment done once the chain agrees. Across PayZoll, Tesseract, AgentOps and OpenAssets that has meant Rust, Go, NestJS and TypeScript over PostgreSQL, Redis and distributed workers, running on Kubernetes across AWS and GCP with Prometheus and Grafana watching it, and the ledger rather than the service holding the truth. The same instinct transfers outside crypto: at JP Morgan Chase it was Python and FastAPI over Snowflake pipelines, where the failure mode was a stale report rather than a lost payment, but the question was the same one about who owns the truth.
